Work-life balance:

What if it was easy?

Dreamsicle Productivity

A sweet mix of work and wellness.

We live in a world of technology our parents saw as fantasies but instead of living lives of leisure we are more frazzled than ever. Work-life balance is always one more app or one more subscription away, but brunout is on the rise.

It's time to acknowledge the truth: the current technological solutions for work-life balance aren't helping, they're hurting.

We know why and we know how to stop it.

Welcome to balance.

Welcome to wellness.

Welcome to Dreamsicle.

The Dreamsicle
Experience

Work for 25 Minutes.

Focus as much as you can on this one task while working.

Set Your Tasks

With Dreamsicle, you can input up to five tasks at a time before you click, "start."

5 Minute Wellness Break

After your work session, an ad-free video leading you through a guided movement or meditation session will play. See an example below!

Repeat

Repeat the cycle or work and wellness up to 5 times before being prompted to take a longer break!

Simple. Science-Based. Sweet.

The current group of productivity apps mean well.

They really do.

But they are inadvertently enabling burnout; not fighting it.

Dreamsicle is rooted in the science of holistic productivity because it is the only sustainable path forward.

FAQ

What is the pomodoro method?

The Pomodoro Method is a productivity technique developed in the 1980's by Francesco Cirillo and derives it's name from the tomato-shaped kitchen timer he used (pomodoro = tomato in Italian!).

The Pomodoro Method is a productivity technique that alternates 25 minute working periods with 5 minute breaks. Typically, every 3rd break is between 10 and 15 minutes.

Why can I only put in up to five tasks at a time?

Because of the science of diminishing returns!

The human brain can focus for 45 minutes at a time. Dresmsicle's pomodoro structure makes sure you take breaks to keep your focus high during your working sessions and we have designed the app to limit working time to 2.5 hours, as that is close to the maximum amount of time that a person can focus on work before we see an increase in mistakes and more effort placed on trying to focus than on actually getting work done.

I work in a shared space. Can I still do the movement and meditations in the app?

Yes! We designed Dreasicle because we were working at a shared office in an older building known to have black mold and cockroaches. Yuck.

"At-your-desk" workouts or stretching routines that involved jumping jacks, burpees, or touching the floor (gross) were not an option.

You'll find that Dreamsicle has a variety of movement breaks. Some are designed for when you are working privately with a lot of space and can do big movements. Most are designed so that you could reasonably do them in a crowded coffee shop or on a plane without getting weird looks from the peole around you.

Is Dreamsicle a fitness app?

No. We are wellness app.

So, what's the difference? The goal of a fitness app is to improve some part of your physical performance whether that be cardio endurance, flexibility, strength, or something else. As a wellness app, Dreamsicle's goal is to improve how you feel mentally and physically overall.

We think of it this way: Dreamsicle will not replace your fitness routine, but it will empower you to stick to your fitness routine. How many times have you had plans to work out after work but skipped it because your hips were tight from sitting all day? Dreamsicle's movement breaks aim to reduce or eliminate that happening.

Then again, how many times have you planned to work out first thing in the morning but hit the snooze button instead because stress kept you tossing and turning for half the night? Dreamsicle's mindfulness breaks aim to help you reduce stress so you are well-rested and able to stick to your plans.

Are you a meditation app?

Forgive us for being sticklers, but we prefer the term "mindfulness."

Sometimes your Dreamsicle breaks will be a traditional meditation. Other times it may be a guided visualization or even a mindful movement where we take time to consciously sync the mind and body.

The common denominator of all our mindfulness breaks is that they are designed to bring you into the moment and leave stress behind for 5 minutes so that you have more capacity for the rest of what your day holds.

If that sounds like something that would make your day better than sign-up today!

Is there a free version?

No, but it's not because we're greedy! It's because of the science.

Dreamsicle's goal is to reduce the biggest barriers to productivity in your day: interruptions and decision fatigue.

We charge a small monthly subscription so that we don't have to interrupt your experience with ads (distraction) or sell your data to marketers who will spam you (distractions in your inbox AND decision fatigue about deciding which emails are worth your time).

Your monthly subscription goes towards creating new videos for the app so your experience doesn't get stale, paying our developers to incorporate your feedback and improve the app, keeping your data safe, and top-tier customer service.

While we can't offer a free version of the app, we are happy to offer you a discount for purchasing 3 months, 6 months, or 12 months at a time.

Can you tell me more about the science?

We thought you'd never ask! We've broken the science into key categories with links to sources, a summary of conclusions, and how we incorporated into Dreamsicle. You can read more at the link below!
